Lower Mainland Integrated Protection Services (IPS) for Fraser Health (FH), Providence Health Care (PHC), Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) – known as the Organizations - is a consolidation and integration of our collective strengths in Security/Protection and Parking, Access & Commuter Services. Consider a challenging role as Lead Coordinator, Integrated Protection Services, responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of designated Integrated Protection Services (IPS) staff at specific sites. You will ensure that security services meet with the hospital’s needs, specifications and standards, and assist the Manager, IPS Operations with the development of policies and procedures for the hospital and coordinate corporate protection, exercise programs, education, training and security events and responses. Further, you will implement and evaluate resources, security event management, and loss prevention in support of IPS’s overall mission, vision, goals and objectives.
This position falls under the Security/Protection portfolio of IPS, which creates and maintains secure and accessible environments using the best practices and through excellence in related contract management, systems/technology design/management, security/prevention and management of aggressive behavior risk/management, investigations, education/training/orientations, data analysis/metrics, acute, residential and community/leased operations management support, and criminal justice management liaison.
As the successful candidate, your qualifications include a diploma in criminal justice/law enforcement, business administration or related discipline, a professional designation and specialized training in Security, Fire Safety, Emergency Management, Occupational Health or Safety and Risk Management, supplemented with three to five years’ recent related experience including one year in a supervisory capacity in security/protection services in a large complex multi-site organization.
Knowledge of security and law enforcement issues in a healthcare setting as well as a solid understanding of security technologies, countermeasures, and contract selection and management round out your skill set.
This position is conveniently located at our Central City offices in Surrey, BC, accessible to Metro Vancouver’s rapid transit.
