Lower Mainland Integrated Protection Services (IPS) for Fraser Health (FH), Providence Health Care (PHC), Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) – known as the Organizations - is a consolidation and integration of our collective strengths in Security/Protection and Parking, Access & Commuter Services. We employ individuals in locations across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sunshine Coast.
Bring your strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to the forefront in this challenging role as Operations Coordinator. You work falls under the Security/Protection portfolio which creates and maintains secure and accessible environments using the best practices and through excellence in related contract management, systems/technology design/management, security/prevention and management of aggressive behavior risk/management, investigations, education/training/orientations, data analysis/metrics, acute, residential and community/leased operations management support, and criminal justice management liaison.
You will liaise and provide consultative advice to management and staff in the coordination and supervision of the day-to-day operations of Integrated Protection Services. You will also ensure that contracted security services meet the specifications and standards, and will provide leadership to staff working within the contracted service. Your work will also involve assisting with the development of policies and procedures, as well as coordination of exercise programs, education, training and security events and responses. Further, you will also implement and evaluate resources and assigned components of security event management, security operational plans and loss prevention programs to support the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the respective organizations.
Your qualifications include a diploma in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement, Business Administration or related discipline, a professional designation and specialized training in Security, Fire Safety, Emergency Management, Occupational Health or Safety and Risk Management, supplemented with three to five years’ recent related experience in security/protection services in a large complex multi-site organization.
Working knowledge of security operations, familiarity with law enforcement issues in a health care setting, and understanding of security systems technologies and contract management will be assets for this exciting opportunity.
This position is conveniently located at our Central City offices in Surrey, BC, accessible to Metro Vancouver’s rapid transit.
