Facilities Management (FM) provides services for Fraser Health (FH), Providence Health Care (PHC), the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), collectively, “the Organizations”. It is a vibrant and dynamic portfolio and one of the largest full-service FM organizations in the country. Its goal is to provide a wide range of effective and sustainable services to support the delivery of health care. We employ individuals in locations across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sunshine Coast.

In this key role, you are responsible for managing the implementation of approved real estate, leasing and facilities capital projects for the Organizations, including project management, budget control, contract management, dispute resolution and oversight of facilities projects from design through to construction and commissioning, and supervision of assigned staff. This position will mostly involve infrastructure upgrades such as piping replacement, roofing projects, electrical upgrades as well complex clinical renovation projects.

Some of your duties will include:
• Provide leadership to project teams by assisting and coordinating the process of design development and contract preparation, and liaise with clinical and project planners, consultants and various user groups to ensure that working drawings are consistent with the project scope, budget and project design schedules.
• Keep stakeholders aware of project status and ensuring effective communication channels are in place; assist the Manager, Capital Projects with establishing a detailed project charter, plans and objectives
• Establish project team structure and supervise assigned staff by assigning work, orientating staff, developing and implementing appropriate staff development and retention plans; conducts performance evaluations as required.
• Execute project plan according to project methodologies to ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components; facilitates consensus with stakeholders as needed to implement project methodologies and project components.

As the successful candidate your qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related discipline and a professional designation and seven years' recent, related experience in capital project planning/design/construction management for large multi-site organization including two years’ supervisory/leadership experience.

This regular full-time position is located at the Facilities Management offices in Vancouver, BC.
